Semillas AR/XR

In mid-2024, Pérez Art Museum Miami (PAMM) brought me on to develop an interactive WebAR experience in collaboration with artist Alfredo Salazar-Caro. The project used 8thWall to create an augmented reality installation that launches directly in a mobile browser, making it accessible to anyone with a smartphone and no need for a separate app.

The experience is triggered by scanning a specific image target with a phone’s camera. Once detected, a large-scale animated 3D environment appears, allowing users to physically walk through and explore the digital space as it unfolds around them. I handled the full development, including 3D asset integration, animation timing, scene optimization, and cross-device performance tuning to ensure it was both immersive and accessible.

The piece, titled Como Semillas en el Viento, is still live and available at ar.pamm.org

It has received local media coverage and was featured in Premier Guide Miami for its innovative use of web-based AR to extend the museum experience beyond its walls.
